Created by a mom who wanted better for her kids

Food has always been how my family showed love. Growing up in a Japanese household, meals were about connection, variety, and sharing food together.

When I became a mom, I struggled to find baby food that reflected that same philosophy. Many options leaned heavily on sweet flavors, and I wanted meals that introduced vegetables, quality proteins, healthy fats, and a broader range of tastes from the very first bite.

Remikai was created to bring that idea to modern families—thoughtfully crafted meals inspired by the Japanese approach to introducing food.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Remikai different from other baby food?

Remikai is creating Japanese-inspired baby meals made with organic vegetables, quality proteins, healthy fats, and no added sugar. Each recipe is designed to feel more like a balanced little meal than a typical fruit-forward pouch.

What does “Flavor Beyond Sweet” mean?

Early feeding is about more than nutrition. It is also how babies begin learning flavor. A savory-first approach helps introduce babies to more balanced tastes from the beginning, rather than relying mainly on sweetness. Over time, this may help build familiarity with vegetables and support a wider acceptance of real foods.

Will my baby enjoy savory flavors?

Every baby is different, but early exposure can help new flavors feel more familiar over time. Our recipes are designed to be gentle, balanced, and approachable for little eaters—not overly strong or unfamiliar.

What does Japanese-inspired mean?

Remikai is inspired by Japanese values around food: balance, variety, thoughtful ingredients, and connection at mealtime. The recipes are made for all families and do not require any familiarity with Japanese cuisine.

Who are your recipes developed with?

Our recipes are being developed with pediatric dietitian guidance to help support babies’ nutritional needs and early feeding. We want every blend to feel thoughtful, balanced, and rooted in both nourishment and real-life practicality.
